MPIL Ichhabhedi Ras is an Ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation primarily used as a powerful purgative and laxative to treat chronic constipation, ascites, and bloating. Due to potent ingredients, it should only be taken under strict medical supervision. Key Information Primary Uses: It is mainly indicated for managing severe or chronic constipation, ascites (fluid accumulation in the abdomen), and bloating. It is used to induce therapeutic purgation as part of the Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment called Virechana. Action: It acts as a potent bowel regulator, helping in the elimination of accumulated waste and toxins from the digestive system. Ingredients: The formulation contains a blend of purified minerals and potent herbs, including Shuddha Parada (Purified mercury), Shuddha Gandhaka (Purified sulfur), Shuddha Tankana (Purified borax), Sunthi (Ginger), Maricha (Black pepper), and Shuddha Jayapala (Purified Croton tiglium seeds). Dosage: Dosage should be strictly as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. It is traditionally administered with cold water to induce purgation.

This medicine is potent and must be used with caution. Dosage: Typically, 1-2 tablets (around 250mg) are taken in the morning with cold water, or as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. Purgation continues as long as cold water is consumed. After taking it, consuming rice with buttermilk is often advised.
